IMA ACTIVE Division will exhibit new machines for the processing of pharmaceutical products.
The ADAPTA's DNA has its roots in IMA's 50 years of experience and more than 5,000 capsule filling installations worldwide. This knowledge and experience have allowed the IMA capsule fillers to evolve and adapt to the ever changing requirements of the market. The machine features an exceptional design flexibility: two of its dosing units are reversible/interchangeable giving the possibility of a plug and play shift between different machine configurations and filling combinations. The machine is designed to dose 3 products (up to 5 upon request) into the same capsule, reaching a speed of 100,000 capsules/hour. The ADAPTA also has an indisputable efficiency as far as in-process control is concerned. With the appropriate options, total production control can be achieved thanks to individual check of product dosage and 100% control of gross and/or net weight. The machine working area is completely accessible also making cleaning operations very easy.
The KILIAN SYNTHESIS 500 is a mid-size tablet press machine designed for easy operation and cleaning. All components have been designed with smooth surface and can be easily cleaned. The die table can be taken out without removing the punches, while the force feeder and the tablet discharge are hinged and can swing out for easy access and cleaning. Since the mechanical and the compression areas are completely separated and sealed off, there is no risk of product penetration into the lower compartment of the machine: this means no risks of cross contamination, less maintenance operations and 100% 'black spot' free tablets. With the state of the art quality control system 'ViCon' an automatic machine set up is possible. The SYNTHESIS 500 reaches a production speed of 360,000 tablets/hour.
The PERFIMA is a perforated pan for tablet coating allowing a high flexibility and reliability. The shape of the pan combined with the mixing baffles position ensure a perfect mixing of the cores and a uniform distribution of the coating material. The machine can work a wide range of batches: from 25% to 100% of the pan capacity, and the mixing capability is maintained in case of working with a minimum or a maximum quantity of product. The machine is completely isolated and can be therefore fitted with a completely automatic Clean In Place system. PERFIMA is available in three models: 200 (on show), 500 and 800.
IMA LIFE will exhibit the latest technological breakthrough in sterile filling: the XTREMA F2000. State-of-the-art technological level to offer the most flexible and configurable aseptic filler currently available on the market. The machine features an extremely innovative design, based on a modern modular concept, for actively managing the productive process. In-built versatility matched with a sophisticated thorough IPC system allows the user to gain control over each step of the production by intervening at any time, tailoring the machine to the current needs. The machine features a 100% IPC at the highest speed available on the market: up to 400 vials/minute. XTREMA F2000 can however reach a production speed of 600 vials/minute. Industry experience, proven filling technology and IMA LIFE expertise make of XTREMA F2000 much more than a machine.

IMA LIFE offers machines for washing and sterilising pharmaceutical vials, filling and stoppering machines for aseptic environments, filling and closing machines for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, microdosing machines for aseptic powder filling and, thanks to IMA EDWARDS, industrial and pilot freeze-dryers. IMA LIFE also offers labellers, blowing machines, depackers and traying machines. In 2009 IMA LIFE acquired PHARMASIENA, an Italian company that specialise in the design and production of filling machines for ampoules and syringes in aseptic environments.
IMA SAFE is the only manufacturer that offers complete primary and secondary packaging line solutions to the pharmaceutical, toiletry, cosmetic and food industries. Blister machines have speed ranges from low to super high speed (1,300 blisters/minute). Low speed machines are also manufactured by the subsidiary PRECISION GEARS (India). Tablet counting machine production includes IMA SAFE NOVA (USA) and IMA SAFE SWIFTPACK (UK). Tube fillers are manufactured by IMA SAFE CO.MA.DI.S., while horizontal and vertical cartoners are manufactured by IMA SAFE. IMA SAFE LINE offers a complete range of end of line equipment which includes over-wrapping, shrink-wrapping, case packing and palletizing solutions.
