Oxford Contract Manufacturing is forecasting 40% growth this year as it continues to service the health and wellness sector.

The firm specialises in vitamins and food supplements for both humans and animals, and has also produced products for university studies, medical studies and prop tablets for a Hollywood movie.

In 2019 Oxford Health Company, the parent company of Oxford Contract Manufacturing, moved to a new facility in Bicester, expanding both production and office space by over 250%.

It has seen significant growth in the past two years as a result of the increased interest in food supplements to support immunity and health. In 2021 turnover grew by 125% growth from 2020.

This has led to the further expansion of the manufacturing and warehouse areas with the creation of an additional level. In Q4 2021 the company began work installing a new 2,000sq ft mezzanine floor with two additional mixing and decanting rooms.

Daniela Dimitrov, a senior nutritionist at Oxford Contract Manufacturing, told Packaging News the overall investment was over £140,000 and will be completed by the end of February.

“We also placed orders for several new pieces of equipment due to arrive in Q1 2022 including a new double column 800L bin blender, a new high-speed capsule filler with tooling for a wide range of capsule sizes, capsule polisher and a vacuum powder transport system.”

She added that there is capacity to expand, and the company plans to install another mezzanine in Q3 2022.
